The visionary Co-Founder and Design Head of Alankaram, is the creative force behind the brand’s distinctive furniture design practice. Established in 2013 as an interior design studio and redefined in 2015 as a full-scale furniture manufacturing brand, Alankaram stands as an award-winning practice today, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics.
With more than a decade of experience in architecture and interior design, Anupriya has developed a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design. Her collaborative approach, coupled with her flair for experimentation, has pushed the boundaries of conventional luxury design, creating furniture pieces that are both functional and artistic. Always striving to create something new and exciting, her ever-evolving design portfolio reflects the core principles of Alankaram: timeless elegance, comfort, and impeccable craftsmanship.
In its early days, Alankaram faced significant space constraints, but Anupriya’s father, Mr. Prakash Sahu, a retired civil engineer, played a pivotal role in transforming this challenge into an opportunity. He offered a knockdown shed to kickstart the studio’s operations, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey.
As the business expanded, Alankaram relocated to Indore, where Anupriya’s brother, Mr. Aman Sahu, built a sprawling 200,000 sq. ft. workspace under their father’s guidance in just seven months. Equipped with cutting-edge machinery and a keen focus on innovation, this facility has become the heartbeat of Alankaram’s production process.
Mrs. Droupti Sahu, Anupriya’s mother, also plays an integral role as the studio’s Art Director, contributing her expertise to create artistic furniture collections and hand-painted fabric designs. Alankaram’s strength lies in this familial dedication and collaboration.

Sahu, Anupriya’s uncle and a mechanical engineer with 26 years of experience, brings technical proficiency to the production process. He expertly handles the cutting and shaping of wood and metal, ensuring precision in every piece crafted. The result is an enduring legacy of craftsmanship that runs through the veins of the Sahu family, making Alankaram a true family-driven success story.
