What’s the difference between a nightstand and a bedside table?

The terms bedside tables and nightstands are used interchangeably. Both these articles of furniture do carry an aesthetic significance as they can potentially transform the decor of the bedroom. From the usability perspective, nightstands or night tables tend to offer more storage space to store away essentials, such as spectacles, books, medicines, etc. At the same time, bedside tables may offer a chest of drawers or not. These tables are mostly placed beside the beds and gain for tabletop storage purposes.
